The San Diego i8 Challenge is created as a unique COMBINE from two of the top One Loft Races in San Diego. Located in the scenic valleys of Jamul, California, the Royal Cup and California Classic are both races that are flown on a very challenging course that will test your birds in every single race! The race course has multiple challenging terrains from the humid desert lands, through hazy mountain hilltops, leading to the beautiful scenic valleys where the birds will be flown through it all!
SEND YOUR BEST BIRDS TO CALIFORNIA CLASSIC AND ROYAL CUP RACE, THEN CREATE A COMBINED TEAM FOR SAN DIEGO i8 CHALLENGE AND COMPETE AGAINST THE VERY BEST BREEDERS IN AMERICA!
The San Diego i8 Challenge is a 4-Race Series with distances of 140 miles, 190 miles, 305 miles and the final 350 mile race which is a mass release of ALL SAN DIEGO RACES: The Holiday Cup, California Classic, and Royal Cup Race. This challenge is calculated by the accumulation of points in all the 4-Race Series.
Note: When sending your bird(s) to the final 350 mile race, an activation fee applies. Fee(s) varies depending on OLR rules. See California Classic and Royal Cup rules/fees page.
HOW IT WORKS
– Breeder(s) and Participant(s) must have birds entered in the California Classic and Royal Cup one loft races. A minimum of 3 initial entries per breeder in each one loft race (California Classic and Royal Cup) is mandatory to participate in the San Diego Challenge. To create a team, birds from both races need to be combined.
– The team with the most points accrued at the end of the series will win the San Diego Challenge.
– Nominated birds are to be selected after the 100 mile training toss of California Classic and 100 mile activation race of Royal Cup. Nomination closes 2 days prior to the first 140 mile race.
SMALL TEAM: 3-6 birds
The small teams consist of 3 to 6 birds per team. The small team is free for all participants in both races, who entered the initial 3 birds minimum per OLR.
(NOTE: Only 1 small team of 3-6 birds per eligible breeder is entered. Nominate birds accordingly.)
LARGE TEAM: 8-15 birds
The large teams consist of 8 to 15 birds per team. The large team category allows breeders to partner up with each other to create the team or go solo and enter a large team with your personal entries alone. All breeders involved must qualify with the mandatory participation of 3 initial entry birds per OLR. Each nominated bird(s) will be subjected to an entry fee of $100 per bird.
